Being a fire fighter is a noble calling and not an easy one, I would think. I'm sure you'll be a good "cheerleader."

Interesting situation. You certainly weouldn't have to try to look busy if you took a job teaching English! Of course, you need to seek to do the job you are doing to God's glory, challenging as that may be. I'll be praying with you about the possibility of that teaching position.

Gee, Lisser, if you reach perfection you won't want to hang with folks like me any more. :)

It is good to press on, though, so I'm behind you, pressing on, too.

Quite an agenda. Not to be a naysayer, but I suspect if you get the first nine down, you'll find that the tenth requires additions to the list. I say suspect, because I'm still working on some of those so can't speak from the experience of overcoming all of them. However, the effort will be worth it. "I can do all things through Christ..." is still true.

There's no need for you to offer impressive tidbits, poetic or otherwise. Your reputation is established with me already. Whatever you choose to share is of interest to me. As I pray for you, I'll make special mention of the possibility of buying a house.

Why would two Christmases be the same? As I wrote that question the thought came, "He never chanfges why should Christmas?" But, of course, our choices and changes in our circumstances make the changes inevitable, but God knew how changeable we were when He chose us. I find the unchanging realities are a great encouragement, but I don't pretend it's easy to focus on that. I had a wonderful Christmas, by the way. I'm not sure where # 73 ranks in the hierarchy, though. I'm sure you handled yours well.

It is hard to find the balance between being and doing, especially during the Christmas season. Certain expectations and the idea in our heads about the magic of Christmas mix with the reality of everyday with family and work and life and the knowledge we have of the real meaning of Christmas to give us a holiday soup that may or may not taste good, depending on the particular ingredients each day brings.

Enjoy your new perspective as the magic maker. :)
